Victor, Are these muti vicosity hydraulic fluids that you have listed? I am considering changing the hydraulic fluid again, and filters, would like to take the two filters apart for inspection. On the hundred hour service, I found a pc of metal on the magnetic drain plug that appeared to be a piece of spalled gear(1/4"x3/16"), but could have been part of the machining process too. (Wishful thinking) Fred

Did you save the piece of metal that you found at 100hr svc.?
IMHO, I would contact your selling dealer and bring it to their attention. If you have the piece you found show us a pic and show it to the dealer too.

The Shell, Pennzoil, and Citgo are multi vis. The others I haven't checked on but I would like to think if Kioti has them recommended, I would hope they are. I would check first whatever brand you decide to use.

When I did my first service at 50 hours, I had a bunch of metal shavings on the magnetic drain plug as if from their machining of parts. Apparently they don't clean well prior to assembly. Some members have posted finding small parts such as a pin or ring clip which you would hope was just dropped during assembly. A piece as you mentioned would be worth saving and advising the dealer as Coyote mentioned. It might save you dollars if it really is from a gear and something breaks later.

We have found the Shell Donax TD to perform the best in the KIOTI Hydrostats. It is a multi-vis 10w30.

Thanks for the info and advice on the various Hydraulic fluids, will most likely go with the Shell Donax TD, Not sure about the fluid that is in the backhoe and it effect on switching brands. Fred
