Choking in front of the alter!

Just before saying: "I do." Isssshhh, I'm not so sure after all... She's a gem, but... What do you think?
Its main purpose will be removing snow, up north in Quebec, you know the place close to Jay's peak in Vermont. She's a brand new 2012 CK30HST FEL with quick detach 68" Snowblower. No cab, and a bit of work to remove belly PTO...
Do I have you guy's blessing, or does it sound like mid-life crisis?! Go with a Porcha?! Go out a little more, or "man you're lucky"?

Phil :confused3:

PS not that one for sure!

I have a 2005 CK30hst and use a back blade for snow. Sometimes the fel comes in handy for moving any big piles. Getting a foot of fresh snow happens for me but not this year. The CK30hst will run the 68" blower and the blower will be wider than the tires (R4) at 63". R1 is a little narrower. I guess size depends on how much snow you get, how much do you have to clear, and how fast you want to clear it. If cost wasn't an object, I'd go with the DK40se hst with cab. Seems to be the most bang for the buck, you get a 2X plus stronger fel, and a heated cab if you wanted to add that on. If you wanted a front mount snow blower, Bobcat has them. Then the same tractor as a Kioti CK30hst is a Bobcat CT230. If Bobcat, you would need the mid pto, the fel has to come off, and the front blower is more costly. Maybe just buy a walk behind blower and get the Porshe. A tractor for only snowblowing might be over kill. An older 4x4 truck with a plow works. If you give the members a little more use info, they can help more.

I have the Bobcat version on the CK30. I live in Manitoba and run a 76" rear 3pt snowblower. I use the FEL so much for snow removal I would not consider the extra cost and hassle of a front mounted snowblower. But a great tractor.

Thanks for the replies!

I added photos of a typical storm back there. A bit over 20 inches I guess. The road is about 1/3 mile long. With my land mower tractor (26 hp Husky) it took over 3 hours to clear that storm.

It will do the job, but as much as I enjoy quality time with my little husky, after two hours, it would have been ok! The other thing I enjoy back there, is doing my firewood. 15 to 25 inches ash or maple tree, I'm planning to get a wood splitter and a forest-tree winch. So far, I have a splitting maul by Gransford, very nice, but I'm not 20 anymore.

Both parents have difficulties walking aroud. I would also get a heavy Boxblade to clear away pothole for good!

So... did you take the plunge? First, I love the eastern townships, very nice area. We used to play hockey tournaments in Sherbrook and come a few days early to ski at Orford, Sutton and Owls Head.

I love my 2011, CK30HST. I've had it exactly 1 yr and I've now got 140 hrs on it. This year the Kioti comfort cab went on sale and I couldn't resist, so now I have a quasi factory cab, and it's very nice. I got the cab because a snow blower is high on my shopping list and blowing snow without one, as I'm sure you know from your time on the Husky, isn't always fun. If that is your primary use, you may want to make that a consideration.

Following recommendations and all the rest, 60" - 68" snow blower is what you can put on a CK30, but my dealer says I can go 72" and members her say they have up to 78" blowers (bobcat thread).

My recommendation would be this. If you agree with needing a cab for blowing snow, run out and buy one of the last DK35 cab tractors out there, 2011 was the last year. That will give you a factory cab with A/C at about the same price as adding any type of cab to a CK30. If not, look at a DK40 cab. The KL401 loader you get wil 2.5 times stronger than the CKxx's KL130.

If you'll do without a cab, I vote the CK30HST. I think you want the 30 over the 27 if you go HST and since it's only $700 more, it's not the end of the world. The 35 would be nice, but at $2000 more, it's not worth it to me.

No she wasn't! CK20 HST is the one!

I did it!

After a couple of seasons of looking at... and a two months of active shopping for a tractor, I finally committed myself. My 10 acres in Eastern Township are typical of northern Vermont. I'm 50 miles away of Jay's Peak. The main purpose for the tractor was for snow removal. I got a 51 inches front Martin snow blower (mid PTO driven) and dual hydraulic control. I added a hydraulic Kelly wood splitter, a heavy-duty box blade, an electric winch up front (Champion 4500lbs) and my pride and joy: Hydrolique Forest winch by Payeur (6500lbs). Rear basket for chainsaw, R4 tires, and the FEL was in the deal...
The tractor is 22hp, but it is a power house, kind of a small tank, for his size pretty much unstoppable! I hesitated a lot before buying a 22hp, in fact I was looking for a CK30 or 35. I have 1/4 mile of driveway to clear in the winter, a lot of turning and getting around; the 51'' snow blower was practically easy to maneuver than the 68 inches. Getting around in the forest, circling around threes was even a bigger difficulty. The CK20 HST being 48 inches wide is the best compromise for me. By the way, the forest winch is a pure delight! So far, I have about 10 hours; it's surprising how thought it is, absolute no regret, and the service by Payeur's: outstanding!

Congrates on the tractor:thumbsup: and welcome to the pack. As for service my CK30 also comes from Payeur, AT HOME service even when it's 3hrs aways. We also had a DK45SEC HST which my dad purchased from another dealer than Payeur and no real service, bearly knows his own products. When the time comes, i will purchase from payeur again.
