ck 30 won't turn over

Hi guys I have a ck 30 that at times would not turn over on the first try. Sometimes I would have to try a couple of times and push the cluth in and out. Now I can not get it to turn over at all, but I can hear the relay click when I push in on the clutch. Do any of you know of a common problem that this could be before I dig too deep. Thanks for your help.

My dad had a similar problem with his JD. It wound up being the battery. You could hear the starter clicking but the battery didn't have enough amps to turn it over. Everything else worked fine though, lights, gauges, etc.. Have your battery checked even if it looks fine it might have a dead cell and you wouldn't know. Hopefully that is all it is and could be an easy fix. Good luck.

Sounds like the battery to me. Do the lights work ok? If not probably battery. Check battery connections for corrosion and tightness, sometimes the connections even if they look good, are bad with a layer of oxide. Take off cables, clean connections with sandpaper, check battery fluid levels, charge battery.

Check alternator belt tightness, measure voltage of battery when off (should be over 12 volts) and when running (should be over 13 volts). If battery voltage doesn't increase when running, charging system might be bad.

It has a good strong battery. it is something preventing the starter from even trying. when it has happened in the past when it finally engaged it cranks over very strong. I think it is probably a safety switch or maybe even a faulty key switch.

Sounds like the clutch interlock switch is gone.
