Loader CK series loader control. Has anyone modified it?

It might just be me because I am a big horse but I find the loader joystick makes it near impossible to mount or dismount from the right side. This is the side that is easier for me to use when getting the tractor out of the garage. Has anyone modified the joystick to get it a little closer to the seat? Via bending, or cutting and welding etc.

How interesting, one thing I like about the CK series over the DK series is the fact the joystick is farther from the seat.. I have hit the DK joystick with my thigh several times (especially while in reverse and looking backward). And remembered how the CK joystick is better designed so as not to do that. Now you want to change that.!

Maybe we ought to just swap joysticks

.. I have learned to "not do that" on my DK, but I have done it several times in the past, one time I dumped about 100 lbs of cement powder on the gravel , (its still there).. I am sure you could modify it if you wanted to. I though about cutting mine and welding in a section to move it to the right.. I just never did it, and don't really feel the need now.

Now that the gardening season is over I'm just thinking of jobs to do.

No way I'm taking that valve out. If anything, ill cut and weld while on the tractor

Now I'm wishing I picked up a couple welding blankets the last time I was at harbor freight.

They are double the price (at least) in Canada.
I just got some Jeep side mirrors on eBay. They will be a nice addition too.

Yeah I looked at the procedure to remove it, and wasn't really too eager either..

Getting just the joystick lever out is not a big problem if you can get the bottom of the boot loose. Lift it up loosen the jam nut and unscrew lever from the pivot base.

This is and extra joystick I have. Plans I have for it, a straight lever might work better so if anyone wants to trade PM me.

heres a simple solution to getting off on the right side and safely backing up. Add a bar by fastening it to an existing bolt between your knee and the joy stick. I nearly took my head off backing up with a lift of 2x4's and not realizing my knee was raising the fel. Looked up just in time!!

Hey Delgra...black Gorillia tape matched the seat much better...ask me how I know?:laughing: Never get in the seat with a 8" screw driver in your back pocket
