Hello all,

Anyone else running into issues where the brake pedal on a CK20 is hitting the loader hyd. lines when fully depressed?

Mostly an issue when I am setting the park brake, but also hits under harder braking. Under a cursory look, it doesn't look like adjusting the bracket that hold the hoses will help much.

I've only got 30 hours or so on the tractor, and had significant wear on one or two hyd. hoses before I noticed what was happening. I now have additional hose protection in place until I come up with a better solution.

Thoughts?

Hi,
You will need to take up on the brake linkage. If you set the adjustment to engage earlier it will not have enough travel to hit the lines. It sounds like your brakes have set-in a little and just have to be adjusted. The linkage is under the cover below your steering wheel.

It might also be that your loader hyd lines are not installed correctly. Do you have a picture? The lines on the CK20 loaders are straight on one end and have a 45 on the other. I believe the straight end should go on the valve under the tractor and the 45 end should go up by the quick couplers.

I've seen some pretty "creative" routing of loader hydraulic lines which I assume must be done by the dealer.

Hi all,

I'll check the routing today, but I'm thinking Dave may be on to something. It takes hard application of the pedal to contact the lines, and "sucking up" the linkage may do it.

I'll check the routing though, and snap a pic later today.

Thanks all!

I have the same problem on mine.

My lines have some plastic wire-harness type mesh plastic material (but not really see through mesh -- just mesh w/ the holes a true mesh would have filled in w/ plastic) covering the lines. I've noticed on mine the brass colored pin that keeps the brake pedals held together (which I can't separate until I get a hammer / penetrating oil to free up the rust that is keeping the pin un-moveable from the tractor sitting for months outside before buying it "new") is what rubs on the loader hydraulic line that's closest to that brass. The plastic is taking the abuse right now, but will probably eventually wear through.

I'll check out mine when I get home as I'd like to rectify this. I find I don't push down too hard on the pedal when setting parking brake (i.e. I "baby" pushing too hard on the pedal to help avoid contacting the lines and wearing them out). This is dangerous as it results in the tractor just barely being held in place.

If the lines are installed wrong, I'll have the dealer correct them when it goes in for 50 hour service. I've about 35 hours on my "new" machine that sat and rusted in various places outside for 3 months of lots of new england rain before buying it.

Next time I buy a machine, I'm going to wait for a crated machine to be assembled and kept indoors out of the weather until it becomes mine and I continue to keep it out of the weather when not in use.
