Both my Light switch and ignition switch need to be removed and cleaned (or replaced),
Is there a step by step for this??
I am not immediately seeing how they come out,, I am sure it's a simple job if I knew the steps,, or I could mess with it a few hours, and teach the dog some new cuss words :)

What symptoms are you having that make you think they need to be cleaned/replaced?

As I recall it was pretty straight forward - there's that flat vertical panel below the dash, I think I had to take that off, and I think then I could get the panel off? I'm just going by memory. Didn't really need any cuss words to get it all done. Or Saw-Zall for that matter. I say just dive in you'll be fine assuming you're remotely mechanically inclined. ;)

Thanks for the reply,
I was just making sure there was no "Gotchas" like so many newer cars.
What actually retains it, I did not see an external nut, like so many older switches on equipment.

Thanks

OK,
Update and a how-to:

Disconnect the negative battery wire.
use a pair of channel locks to remove the ignition retaining ring/nut.
Remove the lower panel below the dash panel (remove the Red and yellow rubber boots off the 2 levers, remove the 4) 10mm bolts.
Loosen and left the dash panel (remove the throttle T lever, remove the bolts and screws holding the panel.
Reach under and disconnect the flasher switch harness connector (it restricts lifting the panel up.)
You now have access to disconnect the ignition switch and light switch pigtails from the harness.
The Light switch is hel in the dash by 2 spring tabs on the back, just squeeze and pull it out from the bottom.

Both switches are out and on the bench for disassembly and cleaning.

Check the plugs (both male and female) and check for corrosion on the pins, I found some on the ignition switch that was making it act weird. After cleaning the switch works as it should.

Disassembled both the ignition switch and light switch.
The contact strips and shoes were HEAVILY corroded, they were green and crusty, cleaned them up and lubed with Vaseline,, everything works perfectly now :)

Awesome! Glad it was a "simple" fix that only cost you some time. Both components can be plenty expensive if you had to purchase new.
