CK20 on a uhaul trailer

That is a very heavy tractor. My 1/2 ton (20" rims) with the 360 engine did have some troubles on the trip but mostly due to my errors.
I had the cruise set at 70ish, O/D off, about 3K on the Tach going up and down the big hills of Interstate 84 in Conn. I looked in the mirror and saw tons of white smoke. Pulled over with three lanes of traffic buzzing by and saw transmission fluid dripping out into a puddle. Let the truck cool, checked levels, which were okay, dripping stopped and so I proceeded but at 45-55 mph and all was fine. I have hauled cars, gravel, etc and nothing gave me problems like the weight of the Kioti.

As to your cab and wife and justification? We bought a 99 Trans Am anniversary convertible for her and four years later, I got the tractor. Oh shucks...it is her turn again /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

That's good to know that even a 1/2 ton had some problems. I won't try that stunt with my SUV.

It did workout but I am not sure I would use eBay again for that large a purchase unless from a dealer. Between the bank to bank wire transfer, transportation, and basic concern about being taken. I did get a nice deal though but it could have gone south and I would have been stuck having the authorities search for a tractor. I guess I am a risk taker to use eBay but this one was a pretty big risk and when I went to the wrong house (with the right number but wrong street) and the people did not answer the door at first and then gave me a blank look--I started to get more nervous. Followed their directions and ran into some 60's generation folks at that house who thought I was there to buy something else...again, right street-right house number but three doors down (very strange) and finally, they directed me up the street three houses to a new house, unmarked and there was the CK20 but I was pretty sure I was in trouble up to that point. So eBay next time? Not unless it is a dealer.

Nothing wrong with a half ton earnig its keep. Here my chvey with a 350 V8 tows the 7000 lb trailer at 11mpg and no complaints. Proper setup of load and truck makes a big difference.

I have had terrible luck renting U-haul trailers with my half ton.
