CK20 rear remote question

This is related to my backhoe question, but different enough to warrant its own thread.

I had my dealer install the factory rear remote (or is it remotes?)
The lever has A - N - B with detents.
There are 2 quick connects at the rear of the tractor.
Does one act as the pressure supply and the other the return ?
When you move the lever from A to B, does it swap them ?
Or is one connect "A" and the other "B" and there is a common return somewhere ?

I know this is a simple question, I just don't know the answer.

Which way you connect the 2 hose to either A or B will determine which way the fluid will flow when you move the lever so you can hook them up to suit the way you wish to move the lever for a certain action.

That's why you have the A-N-B. If in "A" position, fluid flows out remote connection "A" (pressure) and the remote "B" connection is the return to the sump. If in "B" position, fluid flows out remote connection "B" (pressure)and the remote "A" connection is the return. This is how you can control a hydraulic cylinder and have control to extend or retrack the cylinder. As you said, the control will swap them and there is no common return. The bh will only want fluid flow going in one of the hoses and not the other hose which is the return only. Sometimes I hook mine up backwards on my remote, (two quick connects is one remote), and instead of using "A" as I normally do, I have to put the control in the "B" position. Hope this helped.

What VictorW Said! Sure makes hooking up the backhoe easy as you can never have it hooked up backwards accidentally. (or put a zip tie on one hose and on the corresponding quick connect on the tractor so you know which one to always use if it matters to you - good idea for things like a hydraulic top link.)

I've got the exact same setup and use the 'B' position to run the Kioti b'hoe that came with my tractor. If the selector is placed in the 'A' position it deadheads the pump, the same as if you ran a cylinder out to it's limit and held the valve in that position. SO, I assume, another set of 'quick connects, can be added to work off of the 'A' position. Since the back hoe must be hooked up hydraulically to prevent 'deadheading' I assume that one of the' quick-connects' takes the return flow from the hoe - if you hook the 'quick-connects' together with a 'jumper' hose the 'B' position will not deadhead but the 'A' position still does as they are not connected internally. All of this info came from my observations and subsequent 'digestion' in my 'pea-brain'. There are guys on here that have access to hydraulic schematics and such that I don't have; not to mention that some of them have way more 'hands on' experience with the system than I do. I'm sure some of them will pipe up soon.
