Hello thanks for allowing me the privelege of joining your group I have researched several of the threads and find this forum very useful
I recently purchased a CK20 hst with 700 hours on the problem I am haveing is that when I engage the four wheel lever I cannot get the hi low range lever to switch with the four wheel jumping out of gear

I have looked under the frame and discovered that both levers are linkaged together

Is this a normal situation or was this something that should have been removed after shipping

I soppoke to the previuos owner and they indicated thay never used to four wheel option so it was never aproblem

Thanks for anyones help

Are you sure they are bound together or do they just share a slot? I cannot recall exactly how those levers are set up. If I were you I'd contact one of the TBN active dealers like BTI or Rick Wallace. I'm sure they would be happy to answer the question.

Shifting in or out of 4 wheel drive as I recall sometimes required a touch of the HST pedal but not much more.

If I remember correctly, both levers are on the same shaft.

Spray some lube and work the levers back and forth.

If you use a wd40 to loosen it up, make sure you lube it with some white lithium afterwards.

Use a hammer :) for real !! My linkage was so stuck I could not get the 4wd to ingage at all. broke the knob right off pushing on it so hard. no amount of lube or wd40 worked. finally I gave the linkage a small tap with a ball hammer right where is connects to transmission. taped it a few times till the sound changed. sure enough it worked and shot lube on it after.

good luck
