Backhoe CK20HST hydraulic control valve

I have just removed my 2465 backhoe for the first time from my CK20HST. I'm unsure what I need to do about hydraulic control valve at this point. This is a brand new tractor and I'm paranoid about burning out pump with backhoe removed.

I'd like to practice with my box blade and landscape rake today. Any help would be appreciated.

Hydraulic control valve must be in neutral position. If it gets put into either A or B position and there is no implement, it dead heads the pump and you run the risk of burning out your hydraulic pump.
Do your self a favor and get small piece of hydraulic hose set up to hook the inlet to the outlet on the tractor, and then if the valve accidentally gets activated by your or your clueless neighbor, no damage will be done.

OK, thanks. I guess i'll need to get that before I can operate the three point hitch.

Do you have the rear remote with the A/N/B lever settings or do you have the hose kit with the valve mounted to the tractor case underneath the tractor?

The short hose for the rear remote is nice protection for those ah s**t times. As long as you make sure it's in the N position, you will be alright until you get the hose.

If you have the hose kit with the valve, then it needs to turned completely the other way.
