Hello all,

We own 88 acers in S. Ohio and are in the market for a small tractor to do some leveling, brush hogging and keeping the place clean. We would also like to disc a few small food plots.

Looked at all the postings and took many test rides and came down to the Kioti CK20HST with 120 FEL. really like the unit for price $11,288 R4's, Fel before tax. The B7500 is nice but is missing a few things the CK20 has and the price is $12,500-12,900 depending if I want to drive 4 hours and pick it up.

The big issue is weight. The CK will top out at 2800 # and the B7500 ~ 2100. I have a 1/2 ton truck and a 12 foot trailer. If I got with the CK I will need a new trailer. Our camp is a 2 hour 15 min hop so weight is a concern.

Your help and comments on the CK20 Vs B7500 would be helpfull.

Thanks

I had narrowed my search for a new tractor with FEL to the same two possibilities; however, I was looking at either one with a manual shift.

I chose the Kioti CK20 over the Kubota B7500 (in August 2003) for the following reasons:

(1) Heavier tractor which I believe is important for better traction and pushing loads with an FEL

(2) Better price - better warranty

(3) More features: mid-point PTO standard, 54" bucket on CK20 as opposed to 48" bucket on B7500, curved FEL arms, wider stance

(4) Did not like the placement of the fuel filter underneath the B7500 - seemed as though it could be easily damaged

I saw your post in the Kubota forum and you were getting some good responses to the trailer towing issue. One major item that went Kioti's way is the loader lift height.

CK20 - 81"
B7500 - 69.5"

My previous tractors FEL raised 78" and at times I was wishing for more height. The curved arm loader and sloped hood has great visibility and the 54" bucket also gives good visibility of the bucket ends. The top edge of the Kioti bucket is also built very strong. And Kioti has position control whereas the Kubota does not.

The price you received is competitive from what I've seen.

....and Kioti has extended their 0% financing through the month of October!
