CK25HST Lower Rad Hose Heater Install

Need to install a lower rad hose heater on my CK25HST.

Can anyone tell me the Katz heater size I will need? Is it a 1.5" ID hose?

Any special install things to look out for?

Help is greatly appreciated!!

I would call dealer for size I purchased wrong size on first try can't tell well until hose is off of machine

OD is 1.75" so it's either a 1.5" or 1.25".
Would call dealer but he's closed now...
Did you use a 1.25" or 1.5" on yours?

Used a NAPA 1 3/8" lower rad hose heater made by Pyroil. Tried to install it at the slight angled portion of the hose... Not sure if the convective flow will be in the right direction (toward block to thermostat)... I think these types of heaters are supposed to be used on more of an incline (15 degree minimum). We'll see!

Lower radiator hose needs to be in straight part of the hose, angled towards the water pump, and higher than the radiator fitting or it will heat the radiator no the block.

Bobcat offers a block heater kit for this engine runs about $80-$85.

I tried to get one added to my DK45 but the lower radiator hose was too short to add any brand of heater. I ended up having to add a Wolverene glue on style heater to the oil pan.

Looked at my CT225 today, there is no place to install a lower hose heater and have it work correctly. Only portion of lower hase that has any length to cut and install the hose is running horizontal from radiator to engine, hose turns 90 degrees to the water pump but pump flange right at the 90.


Better solution is the block heater. If Kioti doesn't offer it, Bobcat p/n is7172027. This fits CT225 thru the CT450 (CK25 - DK50).

As I remember on CK30HST about 5 yrs ago, hose was short and mildly difficult to install heater, but no giant problem.
