Oil & Fuel CK2610 (2019) Fuel Filter Question- Water/Fuel Sensor?

My fuel filter on a 2019 CK2610 does not match the owner's manual (OM) or the factory service manual (FSM) photos. Both of these show an electrical sensor with associated wires being attached to the bottom of the filter for water detection. I can find no electrical connections on the fuel filter housing pictured.

Question: Where is the 'fuel in water' sensor for this style of filter located?

My 2018 CK4010 fuel filter is just like yours, and mine also has no electrical connections to the filter. The water sensor is located between fuel filter and injection manifold or just about 8" down the fuel line coming from the filter.

Got to remember, Kioti makes design changes and may not always update the manuals. I am sure, but not 100% certain, when these tractors were Natural Aspiration, the water sensor was at the base of the fuel filter. When Kioti switched to fuel injection systems for most of their tractors, that water sensor was moved.

Hmmmm, I can see nothing on mine that looks like a sensor with electrical connections on the line out of the filter housing. It goes to the low pressure fuel pump, which then connects to the injector pump. This is the first connection point out of the fuel filter housing. I'll keep looking. Thanks, Toukow

I went on the Michigan Iron Kioti parts lookup website to find your CK2610 water sensor, and on the expanded parts diagrams, I see no water sensor what so ever between the fuel tank and injectors. None.

Choose your tractor model, go to Chassis, go to Fuel Tank Group.

The water sensor is for the common rail engines. The 3A165 in the 2610 doesn't have it as you bought the old school non-emissions engine.

It's all in the workshop manual that can be downloaded off their site.

Don't know why they get so technical about water. Never had water in diesel fuel in 39 years of car operation and 17 years of tractor operation and 8 years of diesel generator operation.

It may have to do with geographical location, or machine specific. In Massachusetts, I used to run a Bobcat skid steer, and I would have to drain the water out of the filter, or take it off and defrost it in the shop as the water would freeze often. Same problem with an F250. However, I had a John Deere 850 cut, that I used for 30 years clearing snow and never had a problem with that, all in the same town.

Any water will wipe the high pressure pump and injectors, gasoline also.

So this model CK2610 has no water sensor because it's not a fuel injected Tier4 emmissions tractor. I also have not had any water issues with my tractor after 4 years ownership.
