Ck2610 early oil change

Just wondering if I would cause a warranty problem if I changed out my engine oil before the 50hr service?? I'd like to get Rotella T6 5w-40 in it before the real cold sets in. I have about 28 hrs. on it now and I'm sure there is 15w40 dino from the factory. I'd run the rotella T6 year round.:thumbsup:

There is something to be said about using dino oil when an engine is breaking in, properly allowing all part to wear and mate together. Though its not the end of the world if you do not. Dealership to dealership, I doubt they all consider wear in the same way. Some may put one kind of oil in when new, and others may use another. But regardless, right now at 28 hours, and it hits your convenience spot, my opinion is that you are ready to move up to the T6 (I also use this).

But for the warranty, to be absolutely sure, I'd send them an email or call.

Go ahead and change it if it tickles your fancy. How would they even know? Just use an OEM filter. The oil will come out black regardless.

Was planning on using a WIX oil filter. Seems to be about an inch longer than the OEM. More media??

WIX is a fine filter, I just meant if you wanted to be more discrete, an OEM replacement would hide all traces of you doing any work.

But no one is going to invalidate your warranty over an extra oil change, so just go for it if you want to. They would have to prove that your work is what caused any specific engine problems (which are exceedingly unlikely anyway).

I also use wix for most all of my oil filters. Good glass cellulose, metal endcaps, silicone anti-drainback valves, metal internal relief valve, all the good stuff. The "Napa gold" brand filter is a wix filter as well, which makes it quick and easy to get them if you are not stocked up.

If you are going to use the Wix filter make sure you have the room for it. On my CK35 the Wix filter hits the removable side engine cover. The side covers rubber attachments were flexible enough to place a piece of self stick 1/2" neoprene on the filter so the cover wouldn't wear a hole in it.

Mid 20's here this AM. The Oil from Kioti is a little thick. The T6 should turn over much easier.

Big difference in starting. It just turns right over without any spitting and sputtering.

I switched over to T6 about a month ago, the lowest I've started it in so far is about 40 but I can tell a big difference in those temps even.
