CK2610HST: Clutch pedal engagement clip- when used?

I'm new to both Kioti's and HST transmissions with a massive 1.5 hours experience, and see no reference in the manual to this component (at least not in the clutch pedal section). Given the fantastic, detailed nature of Kioti documentation (just for fun, check the owner's manual index for such obscure and non-critical words as 'fuse'), I figured it was better to try the forum.

I infer this clip would hold the clutch pedal down when it is used, clipping under the deck after pressing the pedal down. Under what conditions would you typically use it? Thanks, Toukow

It's just for long term storage, to prevent the clutch disc from getting frozen in place with moisture and that kind of stuff.

I use it to start the tractor when I'm not in the drivers seat, changing implements etc.

Basically anytime for long term storage or if it痴 sitting for more than a couple of weeks at a time. Also if you live in a high humid climate it can help keep clutch disc from sticking. It痴 a simple solution really. If you do manage to get a stuck clutch a couple of good firm presses and warming it up can help. But after 2 years of ownership of my ck 2610 . I have had zero issues and really don稚 use it much if at all. I don稚 put a lot of hours on the tractor but she gets ran at least a couple of times every few weeks.

Thanks for the education. I don't use mine enough to NOT use the device, and I think we qualify for higher levels of humidity in WA state. Thanks, Toukow

Apparently, water can collect in the clutch housing. The manual says to drain (annually, I think). If water comes out when you drain it it might be good to hold the clutch disengaged for storage.
