I must have really annoyed the Kioti gods this week. I had an issue with a cable I ripped off, which I fixed, but now noticed I am leaking coolant. The leak starts as soon as I turn the machine on and it's leaking from the top and bottom hoses.
Anyone else have this happen? It only has 24 hours on it as well.

Yeah, basics first, make sure the hose lamps are tight.

thanks. I didn't check the clamps and they are tight. The coolant level is at the top of the radiator when cold. So I don't think it's lost too much. Just seems odd that both hose connections are leaking at the same time.
I'll have to contact the dealer after the holiday.

I too had a mystery coolant leak on my CS.

It first appeared after a engine warranty fix by the dealer. I assumed it was a rad system leak but could not determine where the coolant was coming from. The dealer took it back and pressure tested the system and scratched their heads over the source of the leak.

Turned out the leak was from a bad seal on the top of the overflow tank. When the tractor moved the coolant slosh around in the overflow leading to some escaping out the top and ending up at the bottom of the rad housing.

They replaced the overflow cap, but it is a cheapout plastic snap-on-thing-a-magig. I ended up used some silicone grease on the rubber part of the cap to get a better seal. That seems to solved the issue for now.

A few of the plastic parts on these tractors are definitely made from cheap plastic. Mine is stored indoors, but we will see how long they last. The only positive is that the overflow is not exposed to UV..........to me it looks like the type of plastic that UV will rapidly break down. Hard and brittle.

I have my eye out for a good replacement from a wreckers.

On the last 3 compact tractors I've owned 1 or 2 of the coolant hoses weeped soon after the first cold snap. Tighen the clamps up when the engines warm and no more leaks.

Did you check with a screw driver or a wrench?

When the rubber hose relaxes it will leak. Mine did. Thats why I prefer spring clamps over screw type clamps. Spring clamps auto adjust.
