I was wondering if anybody has used a RFM with their CK30 and what size it was. Did it mow well ? If you had to do over would you by the RfM or not.
My dealer said a MMM option should be avaliable soon but could not give me an exact date.

I have just recently purchased a CK30HST and an 1800mm rfm, although I have only used the mower a few times now it works well however is definitely suited to regularly maintained grass, longer grass makes it struggle.

U can pull any size finishing mower behind that tractor...well up to an 84"...I have sold 84" finishing mowers to guys with 8N fords...just got to keep that grass down!

I have pulled an 11' tri-wing finish mower behind mine with no problem. I also have a 72" finish mower I pull behind when I am mowing a smaller area. The ck30 handles both well. Granted I wouldn't want to mow 8" grass with the 11' mower. A couple of things I have found: Rear discharge is essential as you get into the larger mowers. They don't have to push the grass all the way across to one side through the remaining blades and therefore don't windrow and pull easier. Also, as you get into the larger decks they are more apt to scalp over uneven terrain since most have the wheels at the corners.
Personally, I like the rear mounted mowers since I can back under trees and trim fairly close that way as compared to a mmm. Also, I can quickly unhook from the tractor to use it for other things.

Thanks for the information guys. What kind of tires are you running and do they tear up the grass bad? /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I'm running R4 industrials on my CK20HST on sandy soiled yards with no problem of tearing or rutting. Occasionally I could probably use a little extra grip of a R1 Ag, but not often. Just make sure that you turn off the 4WD if you're on a lawn to reduce the chances of tearing. John

I'm running R-4 Industrials on my DK 35 and use it to mow my lawn with very little damage.

I have Ag tires on my 3054. If I turn hard while mowing and don't throttle back they rip the soil real good. Great in the mud and snow.
thx
