Tractor
Kioti CK35 HST
As near as I can tell, these are the exact same tractor except for the engine. I've been looking at the CK30 but my dealer is suggesting the CK28 to save money. He says the difference in performance is negligible. Will 2 HP make a difference in performance? He also told me that Kioti is planning to discontinue the CK30 for this reason. Comments?

Thanks!

OOPS... I meant to say CK27 which is actually 28HP. :)

Been there:laughing: Before buying my CK30 i also looked at the CK27, same tractor, loader and BH, but for the little difference in $$ i went with the CK30. I'm happy with my choice, but 2 years later i wish i would of went all the way to the CK35 for the PTO HP difference. The CK35 can run 6 foot implements. It all comes down to $$$ and what you will be using the tractor for, never heard anyone saying they wished they had less HP.

No real difference but the big question is what will you be using the tractor for? That's the best way to give advice re whether or not you need a bigger one.

Thanks... But if there is "no real difference," then why would I need the bigger one?

OK... just to clarify a bit. Obviously more HP is better and, all else being equal I would choose the larger engine. What I want to know is how much of a difference will 2HP make? Like I said, the dealer told me that it will make no noticable difference in performance, yet it costs $1,000 more for that extra two HP. So I'm wondering... is he correct? Or is it worth the extra grand for 2HP? He says Kioti is discontinuing the CK30 because it makes no sense to offer both a 28HP AND a 30HP.

If more HP is the answer better buy a CK35.....:D
The CK30 has been one of our best selling tractors, compared to the CK27.
Mainly because of the mindset that 30hp is THE hp to have to do most mid size tractor jobs.
It's always been that way in my area.
That said the CK27's I've sold I have had no complaints on.
We typically stock CK27 gear, 30 gear and hydro and CK35 gear and hydro.

A CK27 geardrive will do everything a CK30 will do.....SLOWER.
That said if you have really hard ground and want to run a 60" tiller, I would opt for the 30 or even 35.
If you don't care about how fast you are tilling or your ground is softer, the 27 will have no problems either.

Oh and yes, they are exactly the same tractor.
The CK27, 30 and 35 are all the same with different sized engines.
They do not just tweak the fuel, the engine goes up in displacement.

About 3 1/2 years ago I bought my CK35 HST. Had looked for about 6 months at several other manufactures. Think at that time Kioti had the CK25,30 & 35, same tractor just bigger engine displacement. I knew once I bought a tractor it was probably the only one I ever would. Hard to add HP after the fact so spent a bit more and got the 35 HP model. Have only run a post hole auger on my PTO but have never been sorry I spent extra $ for the extra HP.:)

Sounds like good advice. I have a whole "inventory" of life opportunities where I tried to be frugal and later on wished I had not. Is it a big jump from the CK35 to the DK line? Do you ever wish you had stepped up to the DK?
