My question may be a little premature as I realize the CK30's have not hit the streets yet and the 3054XS is pretty new. I am wondering why, other than looking at the comparison information on the KiotiTractor website, someone would want to purchase one model over the other? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I currently have a CK20 and love it. However we have since bought a 10 acre place with a horse barn and I would like to be able to use larger attachments. I may be nuts but I would like to reduce the amount of seat time when doing almost anything, especially mowing.

Rollerskate: At a quick glance, it looks like the big differences on the CK30 are:

1. Mid PTO option

2. Synchronized shuttle

3. Less crowded operator platform

4. More hydraulic pump flow (maybe not that big a deal)

5. HST version available

6. Looks cooler!

I'm sure there are a lot of other smaller differences, but these look like the biggies. Depending on what your going to do, and the cost difference, these may or may not be important.

I have a CK20 as well and may trade up to the CK25 or Ck30 but only because I have the "Tim the Toolman" syndrome, grunt grunt grunt /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Did you notice on the spec. page that the mid pto is now an option on the ck25/ck30??????

The mid PTO is listed under "Optional Equipment" in the specs, at the bottom of the page. There was a discrepency in the text portion that has been corrected.

I know one thing I did liked from the spec's was the CK30 had about 3" more ground clearance. With all the lost ground clearance the frame for the BH tends to use that 3" could come in pretty handy. I am going to stop by a dealer and check out a 3054 this weekend. Maybe just parking my seat in it's seat will give me all the comparison I need. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I am going to use it for a variety of things. We will have couple of a horses to pick up after (though my wife could turn 2 into 4 if she had her way). There are about 7 acres of fields to mow. And there is some backhoe work, post hole digging, ring maintenance and I will probably figure out a couple of other things to do with it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That's a good observation - 3" is a significant increase in ground clearance. I plan on clearing some riding trails through my woods, and I'll have to take the BH off. I have hills and banks to go over, so with the way the subframe projects out the back I'd probably take it off for that duty anyway, but more is still better!

I also see that the CK30 has a larger displacement engine too, though it is still rated at the same HP - perhaps it has more torque?

The CK30 is clearly a bit nicer than the LK3054XS, and a newer design, but even with the improvements I would have to take a hard look at the price difference (anyone know what that will be?). The older LK is a very capable machine - I'm delighted with mine and expect it to serve me for a very long time. I think all the improvements they've made are worthwhile, but in the end the LK will still do anything the new CK will, so it still comes down to the relative price/performance trade-off. You may be able to get a deal on an LK, plus they are out now.

I put 11hrs on the LK last weekend, and if I had to pick any of the new features that would have made a noticeable difference, it would be the less crowded operator station. Then again, mine is not the XS model and has the stick on top of the gearbox (where God intended it to be /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif ). Let us know how it fits once you try it on!
