Hit 50.1 hours today so did my 50 hour service. Also did the fuel filter and changed HST fluid. Just a couple notes and pics:
Original engine oil filter was amazingly barely hand tight dont think it was properly torqued on at the factory but who knows at least nothing was leaking. The engine oil filler location sucks! With a tall skinny funnel was able to make it work but otherwise the loader arms and everything else is in the way. I refilled with Mobil Delvac 1300 Super 15w40 as thats what I run in my Duramax trucks and it meets the specs so nice to have a common oil. Im not sure whether the engines are filled at the factory or shipped dry and filled by the dealer I would be curious to know what oil they use on the original fill as what I drained out was still very clean kind of a golden honey color not new out of the bottle but used to diesel trucks that the oil turns solid black (even on new engines) within a few miles (its normal).
Fuel filter was easy to do easy access and no issues. Unplug the water sensor, unscrew sensor by hand let the little bit of diesel in the filter drain out and used an oil filter wrench to remove the old filter and put the new one on did not fill the filter with diesel prior to installing hit the primer on top 5 times and it cranked only a second or two longer than normal starting up and stayed running so no issues there.
As far as the HST and Hydraulic filters both were plain gray no markings whatsoever on them. I chose to remove both of those first and then the HST drain plug afterwards and that seemed to work ok. Turns out the new filters from Kioti actually have markings on them including part numbers and the HST filter is on the left side and bright orange while the hydraulic was gray and on the right side but actually had part numbers on this replacement as well. HST drain plug is magnetic and had some fine metal particles (see pic) but nothing too bad. As others have posted the HST filter took some muscle to get the original off but the hydraulic was not a big deal. I chose to use Kubota Super UDT2 to refill (have heard great things about it seems to meet the spec though not specifically named in the Kioti books -not surprising as its a competing brand - but certainly has to be a heck of a lot better than the cheap TSC stuff.). Hoping it will be better for cold weather ops. That long thin funnel came in handy for refilling as no way to pour from the 5 gallon bucket without making a disaster of a mess so transferred to gallon containers and poured from those it was much easier and cleaner.
The front axle was easy as can be, three drain plugs, one at the low point by each wheel and one in the center under the fill port. I used valvoline 80w90 gear oil because for some reason both local auto parts stores were out of the Mobil 1 that I prefer. 1.5 gallons total and figure I will drive it a bit and have to top it off once it evens out and flows around in the axle.
Tractor goes back to the dealer next week for continued AC warranty work this time the compressor most likely.
