My 2007 CK30HST glow plug light does not come on when I turn the key and the engine is cold. I find I can eventually start the engine by running the starter a couple times for 30 seconds or so - white smoke comes out the exhaust until it catches. It runs fine, warms up and in half an hour I turn off the engine. I then wait a few minutes before turning on the key on again and observe the glow plug light DOES come one and I can easily start the engine. Over the past few weeks I've repeated this scenario. Cold engine - no glow plug light; hot engine - glow plug light. I'm located in northern NJ. My old dealer, Wallace, closed down several years ago. I took it to another dealer here in NJ twice and they didn't fix it - actually I think they made things worse - like brake lights always on, temperature gauge not working - apparently electronic problems. They told me they initially had the wrong electrical diagram, that apparently this model/year had two versions of electric diagrams, that they then got the right diagram, and tried to fix things. But after looking inside the engine compartment I see what looks like electronic relays hanging when they should be held by a screw/nut; and other 'sloppy' things. So forget them. I though I'd invest the time and try to fix it myself but I need help on what to do. I'd like to start with the glow plug problem Can someone point me to a concrete set of steps to perform or videos or ... . I do have a multimeter and a flash light but no diagrams.
