Bought a brand new Kioti the other day, with 2 hours on it. Went to play with it and after 5 minutes of use the tractor was surging, it would drop in rpms and check engine light came on, it then would rev back up and check engine light would turn off. But would keep doing this cycle.

Called CCR in Swanton, VT. The guy came out today, the diesel had jelled up. They swapped the fuel filter and added diesel 911 in the filter and tank. Everything is running great now!

Nice little scare...now you know what to do to avoid that in the future

Been there! :D

Had 33 hours on mine when I encountered this. Not sure, however, whether it was gelling or whether it was an ice blockage at the fuel tank outlet: I strongly suspect the later as I ended up blowing back through the fuel line and initially felt some slight resistance; had just dumped some 911 in the tank too. For me the tractor had been running for a while. Hauled my dump trailer up the road and just uncoupled it to start loading and the tractor died. It would start and then after a couple of seconds, die. A tell-tale sign, for future reference, was the fuel primer was sucked down (normally it's up so you can purge air): this should have been the big clue, but, having never had anything like this before, I didn't understand it's operation fully.

I'll also add that the tractor being stranded on someone else's property wasn't a good feeling.

I put about 2 oz of Power Service in the white bottle (anti gel) in every 5 gallons of fuel in the winter. I use HHO mostly in the tractor and still add the PS. Read the label.

I DO believe there is a heated fuel filter available from Kioti for your machine. My dealer stocks them.

28" of snow and 3 hours later, tractor ran awesome, in the end it was just jelled diesel.

The same thing happened to me, I got a CK3510 in January, got it brand new. Had it 2 weeks and it did the same thing one day, called the dealer he said it was a valve, that Kioti should be recalling this valve any day now, he had three other people with the same problem. the weather got warmer the next day it came out of it. But I sent it back to have it checked out anyway, they need to calibrate it on a computer and they replaced it, They also replaced my thermostat. It's was sticking, stuck open and running cold, this machine came with the fuel gelled up. They blamed it on summer fuel, I live in Maine, you would think kioti would know better, It's gone back twice now. Not happy. I love the machine when it's running right, but next time I will get a older one without the emissions (dpf) come on it's a tractor, and one with a fuel tank under the hood.

Keep a eye out for that dpf light. If that starts to act up call your dealer.
