I am looking at a kioti for sale at a non tractor dealer. The mechanic works on large trucks etc.

When checking the dipstick next to the rear PTO it showed traces of oil but no level. Under the drivetrain there was fresh wet oil. Looked like it came down the drivers left side forward of the drain plug.

Are there any known leak points in this area. It did not come from the hole on the bottom plate between engine and trans. Thinking they may have changed the filter for the hydrolics located above and spilled it. There is a side plate on the left side of trans it could be coming from but I dont think that’s it.

Where is the fill and what kind of oil does it take? Is the fill located in the inconvenient spot on top of the rear with a hook on the plug. You you would have to disconnect the backhoe fluid return connect to access the plug.

I guess I’ll look for an owners manual next.

I wouldn’t guess that someone has changed the filter. That’s a question that you need to put to the seller! If there’s a BH attached that could explain the low level as the HST oil would be affected….but it should still read on the dipstick!! Yes the fill is at the rubber hook plug. Also note that there are 2 HST filters in the system. One underneath and one at your right heel. They are unique and specific to their location. What year and How many hours on the unit? I believe that you want 2010 or newer to get the upgraded injector pump. Keep us posted…🤞
ps…get the tractor serial to determine the year

It’s a 2013 with 1839 hours. I am contemplating this. I really need a much higher lift capacity. But with a bigger tractor, I would probably loose the backhoe. I have some rather heavy logs to move to my saw mill.

Probably would have pulled the trigger if the oil wasn’t under the transmission.

I have a MF TO35 that I can haul logs with a home made log arch trailer. It is a bear to work a 16’ 24” diameter log. It does not have a FEL. The CK35 could handle smaller logs with the loader bucket and chain.

Would like a DK5510 but starting to go beyond my budget. I am retired, nothing commercial about my operation. Just trying to clear some land while I still can.

I abandoned the ck35 because of the oil leak. But scored a low hour dk5510 for the same cost but no backhoe attachment.

Thanks for your interest.

Perfect. Just rent a BH when you want to dig holes….😉
