The more I read on here the more confused I get. I was set on an L3901 or maybe stepping up to an L4701. Wanted Deere because of the brand but the 3E just doesnt compete and 3R is too expensive.

I see a lot of love for Kioti here. Realized there was a dealer close by and just got a quote for a 4010SE HST with loader for 23,500 financed. I was like awesome. Thatll do. But then I start looking at L3901s again and they are just barely slightly more with the trailer, blade, and cutter on top of it. So Im more confused then ever.

I like the features that the SE brings over the standard CK10. And I like the 40hp because I plan on doing a lot of brush hogging and wood chipping.

20 acres. 10 of that pasture. 5 of that woods that I want to clear out a bit. 5 is lawn that I mow with a commercial ZTR but I have a gravel driveway to repair and maintain as well.

Just looking at the specs, the Kioti has 2 more hp & weights about 200 lbs more than the Kubota. The 3 point lift on the Kioti is about 200lbs more. Does the Kubota have a quick attach bucket? The ones I am seeing do not. I could not find lift specs on the Kubota loader.
The biggest turn off for me on the Kubota tractors is the HST pedal. I could not get the hang of it. Only you can decide which is better for you.

I have the ck4010sehc and I was comparing open station ck's to the L series(not the Grand L) as well last year. I found that I like the separate pedals better, the location of filling up the tank and the fact that it came with rear hydraulics as well standard. The heat and the fact that I get ground hornets a lot sold me on the cab model.

Since it’s your money we’re spending you should bump it up to one of those new DK4210SE HC’s. Those things are nice!

Drive them and operate the loaders. When I was shopping last year a couple tractors eliminated themselves because of the loader controls. On some, it was very difficult to keep the bucket level while raising and lowering due to the way the joystick operated.

I think the HST pedal differences are overstated. I've operated different types of treadles and at work we have a two-pedal HST tractor. I prefer the treadle, but if everything else suited me I'd be OK with two pedals. It's easy to be at home with either. Switching back and forth isn't fun.

i would get the L3901 over the Kioti no doubt. Kubota dealer support and parts availability is great- Kioti hard to find here. L3901 is a great combination of lots of power in a compact package. We looked at the L4701, its an odd model, larger than a 3901 and hard to see why one wouldn't just go to an MX series. Our dealer said they sell few 3301 or 4701 models. For us, didn't want something we could not easily trailer between properties without having to get into buying a larger truck etc.

Get the heaviest duty brush cutter you can, the light duty ones are too easy to mangle up

Let the Kioti dealer know that you are on the fence and see if he will sweeten the deal a bit.

I was looking at the same models and decided on the CK4010SE HST. The specs on the L3901 just didn't compare to it and I liked the ergonomics much better overall on the CK4010, not to mention the price I was quoted was substantially higher on the L3901.
