Kioti CK4010 HST
New to the group So Hi everyone.
I have a Kioti CK4010 HST.
3 Day ago I was running the tractor with no issues. Had to stop and pick up some rocks. Turns the tractor off and 5 min later hopped back on ans all I got when I turned the key was clicking noise.
Checked Battery terminal to terminal 12.8 v
Battery cable at starter 12.8 v
When I turn the key with meter on incoming volts to starter my voltage drops to 6.7 volts. I checked the voltage on the little wire to the coil and got 1v
I tested the ignition switch and found dead spot when the key is in the start position. Replaced the switch.
Checked the Start relay and found no issue even swapped it with the Headlamp and ECU relays which are the same and no change.
Hooked up my truck to the tractor battery with the truck running 13.4 v tried to start tractor voltage drops to 12.3 and there is no voltage in the starter coil.
Has the starter motor tested and they said it was good.
PTO is in N position

Welcome to the forum.

1st any safety switches should cut power to the starting process so no clicks if a safety switch is preventing it from starting.

With a voltage drop as you describe, my 1st guess would be a loose connection in the battery to starter to switch to starter wiring or a bad ground connection (probable corrosion at frame connection).

If these all are in good shape, then I would guess a battery that shows a surface charge but the guts have gone. Have the battery load tested after a full charge.

Thanks for the info will be going to check all the connections and wires.

Look for rodent damage. They can eat the wires, exposing the copper on some wires, which can then ground out, in the hardest to see areas of your tractor.
Curse those critters.

Found the problem to be a bad battery. Even though it read 12.8 v across the terminals I took it and had a load test done and it was bad. Installed the new battery and she started right up.

Said it before i was about to suggest battery. Seen it so many times. Reason i own a carbon pyle tester.

First post. Hello everyone. I had the the exact same thing happen not too long ago on my CK3510. It turned out to be the ground to the frame. Once I tightened it up, everything worked as it痴 supposed to. Hope this helps.
