I AM NEW TO THE website, but have always came here for great advice!
I am needing some more advice-we got hit by the tornadoes in Central Oklahoma on May 31st.
Our pasture of Bermuda grass was over seeded with ryegrass and we were going to cut to bale it on Saturday and the storms hit Friday night.
My neighbor痴 barn and mobile home are scattered all over our pasture and we are still needing someway to clean it up. We have picked up the big things but now down to insulation/door knobs/ a 2x4 or metal frame here and there.
There are lots of volunteer groups picking up debris and I have talked to them but asked that they take care of the wheat fields first because they are on more of a short timeline. They are cleaning those so the wheat can be cut.
We will eventually get ours cleaned up but I got to thinking of any way to clean our field with equipment rather than lots of manual hours! With the fertilized Bermuda & rye it is knee and waist high so it needs to be mowed but obviously cannot due to damage to equipment. I thought a landscape rake maybe, but same risk of damage to tires.
Maybe something like a swather that is offset- so you could clear one section and then drive in a 都afe area?
Anything i could put on a front end loader or skid steer loader to pick it up as we go and let that be in front of the equipment?
Just brainstorming and i knew this would be the place to come!
Thanks
