With your last comment about planting, I'd go with the highest horsepower you can afford and get a machine with a head that will till the material into the soil as best as possible. It will make rich, organic material as it breaks down and help keep the soil aerated an lessen compaction which affects soil health.

I agree completely. Well, we have the quote from one person with Tigercats. I was hoping someone would be with a big bark0 370 or something like that. I'd be glad to pay more $/acre to get it done well vs just ok.

A machine with a Seppi StarSoil will do the job. It crushes rocks, grinds stumps and all vegetative matter down to a depth of 10"-16" below grade. I looked into one of these units but they are cost prohibitive for my business. Find a contractor with one of these tools and see what the pricing is.
