On my 422 I'm getting a noise at the front end of the machine. I can't tell which side.
It almost sounds like when we put a baseball card on the spokes of a bicycle wheel. No noise when I
throttle up or down. The faster I go the faster the clicking(forward and reverse). When I turn with no acceleration
I get one or two clicks. Any help would be appreciated. Something loose or a bearing maybe? Just looking for
some input before I take the front wheels off.

Thanx,

Dan

Release your e brake. It might have just moved enough that the pin is rubbing the holes in the brake hub making it click when moving.

Thanks, that did the trick.
I don't feel to bright right now. I usually do run through the simple/easy things first.
I still get the single click when I turn the steering wheel. Is that normal? Or do I need to
lube something?

Now to watch some Syracuse Lacrosse.
thanks again.

Don't worry. Soon those break pins will freeze up and you will never use them again. :). I carry a wheel chalk on board to use when I park on a hill. Or sometimes it's fun to just walk away and see people pointing and yelling that your tractor is rolling away. You can always catch up to it.

That's been a problem on mine since year two. The problem seems to be the weak design of the parking brake lever. Too tight and you can't engage or release the parking brake. Too lose and the pins hit the brake sprocket. For your own sanity, I recommend you pull one of the front tires off and observe how the parking brake works. It will make complete sense once you see it. I have some pictures of it on TBN somewhere. But can't remember what I called them.
