My basement flooded last year, so I knew my foundation drain was clogged.

The pipe was crushed and filled with tree roots. (click on thumbnails)

Here is the new pipe.

This picture shows the constant flow of water that comes out this time of year.

I bought a house that had the same thing happen with it's sewer drain line. No toilets were working, so I got it for a very good price. Of course, digging it up and replacing those lines was about as bad as it gets!!!!

From the looks of your pictures, you have the right tool for the job and know what you're doing.

a word to the wise about compression fit o-ring pipes. tree roots love 'em! since you've already had a tree root problem, be sure to keep them clear some how. even regular solvent cement pvc is subject to tree root infiltration during dry summer months. they can get in almost anywhere.

if its not too late, i would consider adding a cleanout T right by the house so you can poor root killer into the pipe during the dry summer months.

maybe you already thought of that, eh???

That's not a job I would want to do. I can remember my Dad and Uncle digging up sewer lines with a shovel when I was a kid. At least I have a
tractor in case that ever happens.

Thanks for the advice about the o-ring pipe. I have easy access to the day-light end of the pipe now so I can keep tabs on it.
I didn't put in a clean-out because the part of the pipe that was damaged was 100' from the house. Before I found the clog, I was going to add a clean-out right by the foundation to help locate the problem. I may still do that since I could tie the down spout for the gutters into the drain at the same time.

I live in the south, we have no basements, so I have no idea what Im talking about but, I dont think I would hook my down spouts into a drain that could flow into my house.
