Close but no cigar?????

Well, I almost bought the used TC21D with the FEL, and 60"MMM, but the dealer didn't want to deal. I was willing to buy if he haggled just a bit, but the guy wouldn't give more than delivery ($150). The place I'm buying from is only 70 miles away. The tractor was awesome with 97hrs, and the price was $13,995. There was a one year warranty on engine and drivetrain. Anyone got thoughts!!!! I'd be very happy to hear from you guys!!! Thanks Kent.

Several ways to look at this.... I've run across dealers that won't budge 1 cent. Thats fine... more dealers to go to. You haggeled over just over 1% of the cost. Last fall, I bought a '95 JD 955/FEL. Dealer was asking $12,500, we talked several times. I researched like models/years in my area and figured I'd give $12,000, no more. I had the check made out before reaching the dealer, looked at the tractor, drove it for a while. Walked into the office and handed him the check. He indicated he couldn't accept it. I told him I had 2 others to look at, he took the check. I got it 4% less than asking. Sure, not much, but saved a lot of driving. I've found some dealers will deal, some won't, some only at certain times of the year. I'm sure this varies all over the country, and the bottom line is, each of us has weighed many different things into buying equipment. Only you know what is a good deal for you. Happy hunting.
