Cluster flies on exterior of house this time of year, how to get rid of them?

Our house is white, and the side the sun faces on in the morning attracts cluster flies. We've been told by extermination companies that they cant do much. It only lasts for a week or so in the spring and then you dont see any more the rest of the year.

Is there anything I can spray on the exterior of the house to keep them from landing on the house for this week?

They are a problem in Northern Michigan as well. They over winter in any void on the siding and seem to follow the sun through the day. Unfortunately, I have no answer for you, wish I did.

if i remember from researching this a few years ago the time to treat is august, and they breed in the lawn, so you
treat the lawn somehow for them...
beneficial nemetodes (sp) comes to mind,,,,,,, ?????

I used Webzone for all pests, however they stopped making it and I now use Out of Bounds. It looks and smells the same and is cheaper than Webzone was but I think it is much the same product.
Never had a spider on the house in 12 years after I sprayed it. When we bought the place it was lousy with them.
Supposed to last for 10 years in protected areas or 7 outdoors.
Great for termites fleas ants etc. Smells for an hour or two after spraying but not unpleasant. You can spray your lawn or crops with it too.

It should be available there or a similar product. Only need a small amount mixed with water so a bottle of it lasts for years.
