The clutch on my 2535 is starting to drag and I can not figure out how to get to the knuckle to adjust it. The PTO is spinning when everything is in neutral. I had it serviced at 55hrs and now have 150hrs on it. Other than this clutch problem its been great. Any tips or advice? I would like to be able to do it myself if possible.

The PTO's do spin slowly when in neutral. If your freeplay is OK, leave it alone.

ok thats fine, but the clutch is still dragging. I can feel it and the tractor wont even climb a small incline in 2nd range 2nd gear. I know the clutch needs to be adjusted. I just cant figure out how to do it. If someone knows, please explain it to me in detail. The pedal free play is also fine.

Just thinking out loud here,,

If you have the clutch pedal adjusted so that there actually is free play (be careful I just did this, it doesn't take much adjusting) than the clutch should be fully engaged.

I'm wondering if there is another adjustment outside the bell housing that needs to be looked at?

You just had it serviced and it was OK prior to that...time to givem a call...

Clutch Free Play adjustment is described on page 72 of your tractor manual. If this has been done, and you are still having problems, most likely the tractor will have to be split in half to make adjustments to tha actual clutch.

You can download an owners manual from this link Owners manul at www.amjawa.com .

This manual is for the new model of tractors, but is essentially identical to the previous sereis owner manual.

yup looks like that is what has to be done. I spoke to Peter today and he confirmed that. I am pretty bummed about it. The tractor only has 150 hrs on it. I hope its not a big $ job. Maybe I should have spent the extra $ up front and got a hydro..

Typically, if the freeplay is fine and the clutch is STILL slipping, you have problems in the pressure plate (most likely) or the clutch disk.(ONLY IF YOU HAVE HIGH HOURS) BUT, I'VE SEEN OPERATORS THAT HAVE ABUSED THEIR CTUTCHES AND HAVE GOTTEN "MINIMAL" HOURS OUT OF THEM. HOPE THIS HELPS. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Sorry to hear that. Sounds like you get to see what your dealer is made of.
