Clutch Issues

All, I have a 4610 and occasionally when letting out on the clutch it will jump very hard. It does no do this all the time, just periodically. Has this happened to anyone else? if SO, WHAT HAVE YOU OEN TO FIX THIS ISSUE?

I have a MF 2660 (which is the older design made in Brazil). Mine is a shuttle but does not have the power shuttle which your's has. In older "plain traditional" equipment one would first think that the pressure plate was hanging up and not responding to the spring pressure to grab the pressure plate and then suddenly grabbing on. I think your's is a lot more complicated with probably a wet clutch for one thing. I believe my 2660 uses a constant contact (runs all the time) throw out bearing. Not sure about yours nor whether there is even the same kind of "throw out bearing" in a wet clutch system. If there is, it could be occasionally hanging up on the shaft and then suddenly allowing engagement (?)

Have you seen anything erratic about the power shuttle operation? I have a friend with a 3 yr old 4608 which he said (brand new) it would just about throw him out of the seat at times and he was convinced it would tear up his equipment. His dealer came out and adjusted the shuttle operation (some gizmo in the console I think) and cured that issue.


Sorry, I do not have direct 4608/9/10 experience.

Locate the bottom right fuse in the main panel under the dash. Key off, pull it out.

Turn the ignition switch to the accessory position where all the lights light up on the dash. Do not crank it up.

Use the black square button to toggle through the dash. Short press to toggle, long press to select. From there, you can change some parameters as well as clear some trouble codes.

To save, just turn the switch off, count to 30 Mississippi, replace the fuse, and fire her up.

Be careful not to tamper in there too much.

This is the same for the 1700 premium series, 1700M series, and 4600 series.

This stuff is in the operator's manual, but hard to understand in English.
