Hello All,

New to the compact tractor world. I purchased an MT2501D Mitsubishi with a cracked rear transmission case. Got the tractor back together took it for a lane spin, sounded good. Shifted a few times,,Then as though the clutch went out? I have spoken with hmeadows on the forum here as he had what sounded like an identical problem with his Mitsubishi.
We are going to mess with the tractor some tomorrow hopefully.
Question: How much clutch pedal pressure should i have? I am sure it is hard to compare not having a very similar make model of tractor. We can easily push the clutch pedal down to the floorboard with your hand. Should the pressure plate pressure be this easy?
Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Barry

Hi -

I have a 2201, which I think has the same clutch/pressure plate. No, you should have to be really strong, or not able to push down the clutch pedal with your hand. It definately should not be easy.

Have you examined your linkage to make sure that it is connected? If so, then it's time to split the tractor, as either the throwout arm or the throwout bearing have a problem.

Good luck!
