I just replaced the clutch in L3650GST and have what looks like a vent tube coming out of clutch housing (in front of brake pedals). I have a few questions concerning this:

1. Is this used to cool the clutch? Why is clutch vent needed? I don't think all clutches have a vent (not sure). At some point a mouse had gone through this vent opening and built a house inside the clutch housing.

2. The parts manual shows a metal corrugated tube coming off the bent elbow on clutch housing. My tractor didn't have metal corrugated tube. Is it needed? Where does it go? Can I just use a rubber hose instead of metal corrugated tube.

Thanks
