Clutch won't disengage (not frozen, moves freely)

BCS 852 with Honda engine. Engine was swapped in place of a diesel this summer for hillsides since the diesels like to run away on hillsides.

I can move the clutch lever like normal so it isn't froze, but the clutch won't disengage. I removed some slack from the cable and it still doesn't disengage. I removed the engine and looked everything over. The throwout bearing and lever are fine. I didn't remove the clutch from the engine, guess that is next.

I even adjusted the cable so it has tension on it all the time and it still won't release.

It did it a couple of times yesterday when finishing up the first hay field, but only for a second. I also noted gear oil in the housing with the clutch, input shaft has a bit of play also. Is that normal on these?

Hay a laying, rain a coming. Any idea?

Pulled the clutch off the engine and put it in the vise, moved pretty easily. I was pretty sure it wasn't that with how easy the lever moved.

We had a clutch since we were going to leave the clutchs on the engines, but it wasn't used due to the bell housing not slipping over the clutch. Anyway I put the new clutch on and looked over to find steady drip of oil coming out of the tractor.

So I stopped since I don't know if oil ruined the old clutch.

So the clutches have an internal throw out bearing and it sounds like this one failed. Sending it into earthtools to see if they can repair it.

Back to the hayfields as soon as the dew dries off.
