Gonna check out an old Co-op. At first check it's sound, but I found the pto had some slop. Any one know if this is a straight forward bearing replacement or do I have to completely tear down the rear end?
The E-3 is like a Cockshutt 30. Researching that might get you more info.
I grew up running a Cockshutt 20 and owned a 40(like a E-4). The 20 was completely different but I believe the 30 and 40 could have been similar. I recall seeing two distinctly different shaped PTO units that came on both the 30 and 40 but they were always a external unit that bolted to the tractor.
All the problems that I saw with those PTO units were within the unit itself. They are a live PTO which means it has a clutch pack that does wear out.
Oliver took over and I believe used at least some of that design. Another avenue for you to follow.
