I started to use my CO2 to do some MIG welding, and noticed that the gages themselves were rusting away, and the lens were faded. Took out the low pressure gage by turning to the left. I tried to take out the high pressure gage, by turning left. Guess what, it got tighter, so I turned it to the right to take it off. I was puzzled, as I had never seen a left hand gage.

Has anyone ever seen a left hand gage, and why do they use them. I had thought maybe that they use the left hand thread on the high pressure side so as not to confused anyone on which is the low pressure, and the high pressure. The welding supply people said they had never seen a left hand gage. I gave up on trying to find a left hand gage, and bought a flow meter.

It seems like, you never stop learning things, unless you want to.

I got on the Internet and answered my own question. Some manufactures make a left hand thread for the high pressure side on their regulators, mainly used in the beer industry. Anyway, the gages are cheap, about $10.00. You can use the CO2 gages with Stargon if you use an adapter.

Yes, I learned a $65.00 lesson. Actually I was thinking of getting a flow gage anyway. I did find out I could get some left handed gages. I will get one and put that regulator aside for now.
