Coating for operator\'s platform
Several years ago someone on this forum recommended using the coating sold at WalMart and auto parts stores for pickup beds on the operator's platform. When I got my John Deere five years ago this month I removed the platform on each side, sanded each lightly to remove the glossy finish, and coated each with a spray finish which I bought at WalMart. Boy, was that a good idea!! After five years the platforms look like new! No rust, only superficial wear and scratches, and best of all--excellent traction when wet! I remember slipping on the bare metal platforms of my dad's John Deere and banging my knee; boy did that hurt! Anyway, I know that this is not rocket science, but it was such a good idea that I got from this forum that I wanted to mention it.
