I have a 2024 MT3 57 with about 100 hours. After the weather turned cold I am having some issues. If the tractor is left outside, temps around 5 degrees. It starts fine but after 3-5 minutes it dies out. It will restart for a few seconds then dies again.

After having the issue I left it inside in a warm shop and the next day it started fine and operated for 10-15 minutes without issue.

Then I left it outside again for 2-3 hours m, it started fine and after a couple minutes died out and had the same issue.

Unsure if it will die out after longer use when coming from a warm shop. I need to test that after the problem resurfaced again last night.

Any ideas what is causing the issue? I thought once started in the cold it would be fine and not die out a few minutes later.

Thanks for any ideas.

If it is 5 degrees I suspect your fuel is gelling. Have you added any fuel treatment to prevent gelling?
Check your fuel filter to see if it is cloudy.
I use Power Service (white bottle) or something similar available at most auto parts and tractor supply stores. It says prevents gelling on the bottle.
You can also add #1 kerosene to your #2 diesel. Maybe a 50/50 mix.

I add treatment to every gallon I use, because I then don't have to pay attention to when it gets cold, or what fuel was left in the tank

To me it sounds like maybe you should try installing a new fuel filter

You probably have summer mix diesel - do the anti jel additive and go get some fresh diesel and be sure and ask if its winter diesel. If they cant answer - buy elsewhere. You can also have water build up in the fuel filter that is freezing preventing proper fuel flow. Empty the water out of your fuel filter.

I have an mt352 the same exact engine had the same thing happen the first winter I had it. Dont buy cheap diesel at a local gas station - go to a truck stop that has high turnover on the fuel where over the road guys buy their diesel.
