Cold running TC\'s
I was at the local NH dealership this weekend and we got to takling about the TC's. He mentioned that one of the problems the TC's had was they didn't heat up properly in cold weather.
The problem was in the coolant drain lines, they have a connecting hose from the block to the radiator so the system could be drained from one petcock. This connecting hose allows coolant to flow from engine to radiator bypassing the thermostat.
The solution was to install a petcock in the block drain line to stop this back flow. I don't know how well published this solution was but I remember reading of this situation in past posts.
