I have a Mahindra 2310. It starts & runs fine when the weather is above freezing. When the temperature goes into the 20's the tractor will start & run for a few minutes before stalling out. Then it will not start or will start & cut out in a couple seconds. I have added anti freeze / anti gelling to the fuel and ran it for 20 minutes or more when the temp was warmer a couple of times. It still won't stay running in colder weather..... runs for a few minutes then stalls & wont start up again....Could it be a bad fuel filter?? Fuel gelled up in the filter??

I have the Mahindra 2817 Max 28 HST. This winter, I have noticed the engine sounds different after a certain amount of time. No power loss, that I notice, but I'll call it a clogging sound for lack of better description. The tractor is in a heated garage. So, it starts out fine, regardless of temp. I use fresh to fairly fresh ULSD. I added power service 911 at first clogging sound. Have gone back to white bottle power service product in this week's fill up.

The only change I'm aware of this winter in my area, is all the ULSD is now 5% bio. Last winter, my area was still pure ULSD. North, West, and South of us had gone to a lower % BIO last year. Even our #2 Heating Oil is now 5% BIO. That's new, for us, this winter.

I wish I could help you. Thought I'd mention my own experience. Maybe they are related, maybe they are not. Hope you find a solution soon.

I'll monitor my machine and your thread.

Have a lot of black bears following you? That bio fuel from the deep fryers is bound to attract them:D

I have not seen any beers following me. I'm more of a red wine person. Lately, actually more an evan williams egg nog person. That stuff is good, in moderation. :drink:

But I'll keep an eye out :D

This has been my experience as of lately with all my equipment. But it has been Bloody cold!

On the weekend my Steiner was doing this. Had added Lucas Extreme Cold treatment. The fuel in the tank looked fine, so I figured it was either the filter (a cheap in-line thing) or the pump. Put a heater on the pump and filter and it worked for a while, but would almost die when put under load with the snow blower. Very annoying! Then later, after bein parked an hour, it would start, but die right away. That's when I noticed that the (electric) fuel pump wasn't making it's clicking noise. Anyway, I heated it again, heard the pump clicking, got it started and put the thing away!

Maybe, for the heck of it, I should have added the rest of that Sea Foam that I put half the bottle in another machine.
