Kubota BX2230
New to the board and looking for some assistance. I have been looking at compacts for about 4 weeks now, and I slowly getting closer to a decision.

I have 1.25 acres, and I have alot of lanscapping to accomplish this year. I have decided to buy a compact to save my back this year, and I have come down to the BX2230 w/ FEL. I have looked at NH's, Kioti, and others. it seems for the size lot and the potntial for me to use this to mow, that this is the right tractor for me.

I have been frustrated with Ebay and the overall pricing of used tractors. Good for the seller and not the buyer. When it is all said and done, I have gotten what I think is a decent quote: BX2230, FEL and rear weights. Delivered w/o tax is $11,663.

What I am looking for is someone in the Colorado area that has recently purchased this same tractor so that I can compare quotes. It isn't the cheapest or the closest, but he took time with me.

Your thoughts and comments are welcomed. BTW, the wife originally told me only $7k for a tractor. She rode a Kioti w/ HST and fell in love. Take your wife shopping...they never question the price after that!

You can do a search in this forum. In the top toolbar next to the Main Index is the search. Put 2230 in there and limit it to the last 4 weeks and it will pull everything on the 2230.

The information found here by everyone is the best there is.

I remember other boys getting quotes for a 2230, FEL and MMM for 13,200. Subtract about 1850 for the deck and your close. Why not get the MMM?? The financing and such makes it the best time to get it.

Service is everything. If you feel comfortable go with the dealer you like.

Byron -

I am not sure of my mowing needs seeing as I will have limited sod and if it isn't sod, it is going to be native grass and wildflowers. I won't have much of a need for a tractor to mow.

I will see though...things do change.

A dealer in central Kansas quoted me "less than $13,000.00, delivered 50 miles" today. A BX23 was quoted at less than $16,000. They sure look and drive nice! Both quotes included at 60" MMM.

I'm just finalizing a deal with my local dealer for a BX2230 with 60" MMM. Price is around $9600 with 3-yr interest free loan. I have 2.5 acres and have gone thru several smaller garden tractors over past 7 years (one a John Deere wanna bee tractor). Two of my neighbors have Kubota 2200's, and two others have older 7100s, had them for years. I'm sold. Hope this is the last tractor I'll ever need. Don't need FEL, box blades, or other accessories (most of neighbors have one or other and we all share common private road). I may be in market to add a grasss catcher system at some point.

Good luck. The BX2230 is a fantastic machine for the money.

What dealer did you talk to?

My best price so far is $13245 for BX2230 w/ FEL and 60-in MMM. I figure I should be able to get the mulch kit for free, this dealer quoted $331 (sounds like list to me). If you subtract out $2200 for the mower, looks like you're right there. I'm almost certain this is what I'm going with also. It's just such a sweet ride!!

RobC,

That is a great price. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif I bought a 2004 in July of last year with same setup for $9999.00 with 36 month no interest. This was the best deal I had heard of until now.

That price seems in line with prices I got last June on the BX2230 from 2 different dealers here in Colorado, including the one I got my Case from, who sells NH, Kubota and Case - the other sells NH and Kubota. Where are you located, and what dealer are you talking to?

Thank you for all of the feedback as this board has been just great for an excited newbie like me. I have gotten 3 quotes from the following dealers (w/o sales tax):

Longmont Farm Supply: 2230/bar tires/FEL delivered $11,500
Universal Tractor: 2230/bartires/FEL delivered $11,450
B&G Equipment: 2230/bartires/FEL/rear weights delivered $11,600

As you can see, all very close and all were very good to me over the phone. I just need to get out to visit all of the dealers. Longmont also has a 7500 for sale at $12,500 w/ fell and 60" MMM for $12,500.

Decisions, decisions...the wife is getting on me too. Threatens to have 50 tons of rock plus dirt delivered and make me use a wheelbarrow unless I make a decision...soon!

Thanks for all of your help.
