Hi all,

am trying to find out some information on the combining valve for the multi power transmition.

from what i have read this will allow the flows of the Main pump and aux pump to be combined to give an increased flow.

does anyone know if these are still available and what part number these are?

any help or info would be greatly appreciated.

The combining valve does, indeed, combine oil flow from both the Ferguson pump and the engine mounted "steering" pump and routes the combined flow to the remotes. In this fashion increased flow is provided for accessories such as FEls, etc.

I have this valve on my 2007 533. It is available for use on some current models. Your local dealer should be able to help.

You mention multi-power. Of what model tractor are you speaking?

the model im looking to put it on is a 35x multi power, i have read that there is an optional valve to combine the flow of the main 3pl pump and the aux multi power pump. and im trying to find out if these valves are still available.

On my 180, the combining valve, combines the output of both the main and aux. pump. to one of the aux. control outlets. I've been wondering what this was on mine this week also. Found some info on another Massey site, so passing it on...

I've included a copy of a Massey Aux hyd's manual ( please excuse the pictures, they aren't very plain.) You will need Adobe Reader to see the book. Scroll to page 19, and it gives a description and purpose of the valve.

I've also included a picture of the combining valve on my 180, I have torn down in my shop at the moment.

The part # for the valve on my 180 is 513246M91, according to the AGCO Partsbook. And it only shows it on the Western Model, on page 272, of the 180 parts list.

Here is also the link to the AGCO Partsbook, if you don't happen to have it.
AGCO Parts Books

You'll have to look up your particular model, and search for the valve. Mine was listed under the "differential cover and combining valve (Western)"

No wonder I couldn't find it..!! LOL.. The block wasn't the same as on the Row Crop model I have, in the partsbook. And sure didin't think to look at the 'Western" model, as I wasn't sure exactly what I was looking for...

As the saying goes... "A blind hog finds an acorn every now and then..."

Hope this helps..!!

thanks for the info DJ54, can you tell me where all the pipes coming into that block are coming from?

my only other problem is where to pick up the piggy back aux pump on the 35x.

I'm attaching a picture of where that line coming out of the block runs to on my 180. It would be the bottom line on the left. That would be the bottom portion of the 2 spool aux. control valves.

I took the liberty of looking up the 35x, and the plate on the left side where my 180 supply line from the Aux. pump comes through, Is where your PTO lever is. And I'm not even sure yours has a pressure port like my 180. The 35x pump does show some sort of valve there. It would take someone with a lot more knowledge of these tractors than I do. This is my first Massey... I'm more familiar with older IH tractors, so this is a learning experience for me too.

It may be more feasible for you to consider maybe a front mount pump, to supply a higher volume to your remotes. But that is only my opinion...

Of course you may want to study various MF tractors with multi-power on the AGCO partbook site, and compare.

The MF combining valve combines the flow of the main lift pump with the engine mounted steering pump and diverts the combined flow to the hydraulic remotes. It has nothing to do with the multi-power pump.

Valves for current models are available from MF.

thanks SDT, i had read that on older models that there was a valve to combine the multi power pump output and the main pump output. must have read it wrong.

thank you all for your help.

On the older models, such as my 180, it is definitely the aux. pump, that operates the multi-power, and remotes.

Beyondlogic if you look at he linkage control levers you should see a section marked constant pumping if you move your lever to there you will get full flow from both the pumps if you need to know more call Robin Hartwich at Hartwich and Co in Ararat you can get the ph no in the book . Hope this helps
