Hello! Complete Newbie here so hope this does not waste anyone’s time.

I will be starting work on a site for a new home this April and will be doing much of the ground work myself. Septic/leech system, Trenching for Electric & phone, and loading bank run gravel to haul in for the Driveway (~1500'-2000'). I am looking at an 8454 with FEL & 8.5' Hoe to do much of the work myself. Leaving the actual Driveway & Foundation to the Dozer, but again hoping to do as much as possible myself. When the House is done (is a house ever really done?!?) will be using it for brush hog, keeping drainage ditches clean and Landscaping work around the property. I'm looking at this tractor for the FEL capacity for all of the gravel to be loaded, the Hoe's reach for the septic work, and the fact that it can be purchased from a local dealer who is also a friend. Would very much appreciate any thoughts/Comments on this tractors abilities. Have had family experience running Large FEL years ago, but this is a first for me and would like any info the board might provide.

Good, heavy tractor. Cub Cadet name on the side but Kioti builds the tractor, which is a good thing. This is not a Cub by MTD model (which is a good thing too). I believe it is a rebaged DK40 Series Kioti or similar. Lots of favorable comments in the Kioti forum regarding the DK tractors.

It's a rebadged DK45. Model number Kioti is the middle two digits of the model number in the 8000 series. Good tractor overall. The loader is not the biggest one Kioti had on their, but that one is certainly adequate. It's the only one Cub offers, but it's the one I would have chosen anyway since I am not a fan of mechanical self level.

Now that I've looked at the Kioti site I see the identical spec's though some are closer to the S series and some the HST. Have not been able to actually see one in use but will next week when the dealer gets one onsite. Looks like this is the tractor I will be buying as much due to the local dealer as the specs. Will start checking out the Kioti forum to see what I can find. I know the 05/06 cub models are identical but am not sure exactly what model Kioti to compare to.
