Comparable Tractor Model #'s Wanted

I'm just beginning my search for a compact tractor. From what I've seen, a New Holland TC55DA is about what I'm looking for in a tractor (hp, lift capability, etc.). What I would like from you guys are some model numbers of other manufacturers that compare well with the NH. I get confused by all the different letters and numbers and it seems like all mftr's use a different nomenclature system so w/o going to every web site and doing months of research, I'm asking the experts, you guys.

I'm not trying to start a brand war here, so please be respectful of other people's suggestions.

BTW, one of the reasons I am basing off of the TC55 is from the handful of tractors I have searched, it seems to have a better 3 pt. lift capacity than most others. This is a definite plus in my book because when I buy a tractor, a boom hoist is most definitely in my future.

I am also trying to stay in the 50-60 hp range.

Hi. I bought a Massey Ferguson 1643 in april. I love this tractor . In the same 1600 serie they have a 1652 , 52,2 Hp or the 1655 with 55.4 hp or the 1660, 60 hp. Have a look at those tractor you will be surprised. But before buying TRY' TRY' TRY the tractor you will buy, the SEAT TEST IS A MUST.
Also make a list of the equipment you want on your tractor,what comes with it , what are the options you want, their prices, look at the specs of all the tractor you are looking, hydraulic, power, loader, on the MF 1652, 1655 and 1660 the 3 pt will lift 3,483 pounds so the same as the tc55 ( 3465 pounds) .....make comparaison list and compare side by side those specs. It is a lot of money to spend it the wrong way. Have nice dreams . Roger

Here is a photo of my MF 1643, enjoy.
In the 50 to 60 Hp they have 3 models so a lot of choice . Check the hydraulic flow, and all the feature, you might go from blue to red but the choice is yours and all big names are thrusty. ( blue, red. orange green and some others). Good luck. Roger

The advice you want is difficult to "give".
Everyone has a different opinion and experience.
I'd first decide on a dealer that you feel you can work with, and go from there. To compare simply based on 3pt lift capacity is a bit "worthless" (no insult intended) as any 50-60 hp tractor will have enough lift for a boom pole (hoist) to tip the tractor over (counter weight on the front end will be the important factor here). About as important as trying to find the tractor with the shiniest headlight.

So, unless there are more significant needs, I suggest finding the best dealer in your area. They will be your biggest help to you in your tractoring future. I think.

The current equivalent of the TC55DA is the Boomer 4055. If you are going to do a lot of bucket work make sure you get the EHSS rather than the SSS model, as you can change direction without depressing the clutch.
The TC55DA went from that model to the T2410 to the Boomer 4055.
These are getting scarce to find new and I doubt if there are that many used ones about. As it happens I do have a new one for sale. Just so that you can research the market some of the competition is:
JD4520(60HP) Kubota L5240 (54HP) MF1552(52HP) Challenger MT295B (52HP). If you are doing any implement work, make sure to price in a rear remote. Good Luck.
