Comparing 15 series to 16 series/pricing

I've been looking at a few different Mahindra models in the 15/16 series and am quite confused with the pricing I received from a dealer today. I understand that the 2015/2216 are virtually the same, as goes for the 2415/2516 and 2615/2816.
I'm having trouble understanding why the 16 series equivalents are less expensive when they are newer models. For example:
(all are cost including loader and loaded tires, and all are for gear models)
2015 is 11,930 and the 2216 is 10,800
2415 is 12,980 and the 2516 is 12,600

What am I missing here? What advantage do the 15 series have over the 16 that makes them more expensive? These prices are much lower then the other dealer I was working with (2216 is 13,700 from other dealer), all tractors are new although some have up to 5 or 6 hours on them. The 2216 seems like a steal to me. Any thoughts from the experts out there?

I'm sure that the dealer just made a mistake and has the pricing switched around. The 16 series is going to cost more $$$$ than the 15 series. If not, then buy the 16 series.

It doesn't appear that way, but I suppose it's possible. I saw them off the highway with about 20-30 mahindras on the lot and stopped to check them out. I had been working with a closer dealer looking at a few mahindra models last week and thought I'd check out the pricing at this dealer as well. I walked in and told the guy that I was looking for some pricing on a few models. He showed me a spreadsheet with about 40 models/combinations and prices on it and said "read this and you'll know as much as I do, they leave me all alone here on saturdays". He was clearly not one of the main sales guys but was more then willing to help.
They also had the 2816 and 2615 at identical pricing. I was really blown away as the prices were, in some cases, up to $3000 less then another local dealer for the same machine. It seems too good to be true!

The 16 series went up at least a few hundred $$ over the 15 series, so something is wrong. If you can get the 2216 with a loader for $10,800 you are buying it cheaper than the dealers can purchase it from Mahindra. Probably a spreadsheet mistake.

Sounds like someone pulled the dealers spread sheet and not the customers??

I was wondering what the chances were that it was their cost and not selling price, but I'd still think they'd be paying more for the 16 series. I'll have to call them back and ask about that. Dave, too bad I'm not in Chico anymore or I'd be buying from you! You sold me a Yanmar F155D about 4-5 years ago and it was a great little machine. It now belongs to a friend at Pyramid Farms in Chico, and is still working hard.

Somehow the prices are messed up. For sure the new ones cost more.

MA is a little far to deliver, or I'd make you a great deal on one of these Mahindras.

I am just curious as to what dealer you got the price from? You are pretty close to where I live. I bought my 2015HST in 2008 from Orchard Hill and I paid around $15,000 for the tractor, loader and a rear mower deck. If the prices are that good, I might drive by to look at adding a backhoe to my machine.
