WIX 33002 ".....use only w/gasoline (not diesel) - for diesel fuel, use 33972"
I am currently using a 10 micron filter. Post bugs, I would like to go to a cheaper inline filter. Do you know of a 5/16" inline filter for diesel less than 50 microns? Auto Parts stores tell me if it does not state "for diesel" it is for gas. 50 microns seems a lot smaller than the screens provided by the manufacturer when the dozer was new. WIX never replied to my emails asking about inline 5/16" diesel filters.
Background - When new, dozer had screens in fuel tank discharge, top of sediment bowl and banjo fitting of the lift pump. To clean/change the fuel tank discharge screen, the sediment bowl assembly had to be removed therefore fuel tank had to be emptied. I removed all factory screens and the sediment bowl assembly then installed a ball valve on the fuel tank which fed a Racor 20 series unit with a 10 mircon filter (S2502) as a prefilter. The Racor unit was installed next to the removable panel opening for easy access. After bugs, I plan to change the 10 mircon filter to a 250 micron screen (S2501) followed by an inline diesel fuel filter.
