Has anybody ever had an Eaton Compressor? If so what are your thoughts on the unit?
I am finally going to upgrade from a small compressor to a 80gal 7.5hp single phase and Eaton is at the top of my list.
This project will require the use of my tractor to unload the compressor from my trailer and I will be installing it in my shop.

Yes, I've heard of them. No personal experience but everything I've read about them seemed to indicate they're high quality compressors. Since I've no personal experience with them, maybe others know better, but I'll be surprised if you're not happy with it.

7.5 hp is a very large motor meaning it will take at least a 70 amp breaker or bigger. My 5 hp motor on my compressor takes a 60 amp breaker. That's the only thing I don't like about my compressor. My compressor came from Napa and I didn't have to pay for shipping. Mine is a 80 gal 5 hp 2 stage compressor. You might check your local Napa, they might be able to save you some money by not having to pay for shipping for your compressor and they can get you the parts if and when your compressor has trouble. My compressor runs my media-blast cabinet with no trouble. As for the company that your looking at, I've never had any dealings with them. But, I dont think you will have any. I've read and heard that they do sell very good compressors thou.

Then, its not a true 7.5 hp motor. That tells me, there giving the peak hp. I wouldn't buy any compressor from a company that does not give the true numbers. Allot of manufactures do this and it drive me nuts when I'm researching a item that I'm wanting to buy.

Yeah, I think I'll stick with my 2 IR and antique Westinghouse compressors. I have seen a couple of people that were not happy with Eaton's made in commieland compressors.

I've had an Eaton 7.5 hp compressor and thier air chiller for about 2 years now and have been very happy with it. I've used it continuously for air tools, sand blasting and painting cars, never had a problem with their equipment. I'm not using it right now as it's loaded up in my trailer with all my other shop and house goods till I can build my house/barn on my land, but I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another one.
