I am new to this site and need some information from the experts on here.
I have an older Toolcat 5600 and a new power angle blade.

This may sound really stupid to you guys on here but I am unable to connect the hydraulic hose lines from the angle blade to the Toolcat auxiliary connections.

I have never had this problem in the past with the hydraulic hose connections on my tractor while connecting my log splitter etc.

Pretty sure I have followed the directions in the Toolcat manual to connect but no luck.

I assumed that the outer ring on the female connection of both the Toolcat and the blade should push back but neither will do that.

Can someone please help? What am I not doing correctly?

When I bought the grapple (sitting in the sun), the dealer had to crack the lines so they would connect.

What do you mean by the dealer had to crack the lines?
Just wondering if that is what is wrong with my lines on the blade I purchased
It was new but had been sitting for about a year.

If it was last used when it was cold and now it is somewhere hot, high pressure can build up on each side of the cylinder. They just needed to loosen the hydraulic lines to release that pressure, then the hoses could attach the couplers.

Just dealt with the same problem. One of the hydraulic lines on my clamshell bucket would not hook up after sitting in the hot sun all day. I loosed the nut between the line and the coupler, bled a few drops of hydraulic fluid, and retightened nut. Problem solved!

Thanks for the link to the video. It was very helpful and did explain. I have the manual and the maintenance book but neither explain anything helpful except hold the couple to the machine for 5 seconds LOL

Thanks for the help. I did finally get them to connect OK with help from everyone on here. You guys are all very helpful.
Just a minor question?
One of the couplers on the blade is leaking a bit and I wondered if I could use plumbers white tape on the connection? or is there a better way.

Just be sure the tape stays up on the threads and isn't too far towards the inside.
